Cio D'Or is a German DJ, composer and sound architect whose unique style combines electronic and acoustic elements, creating emotional and cinematic music. Since her debut in 2004, she has released two albums, numerous EPs and remixes on labels such as Prologue and Semantica, and collaborated with artists such as Donato Dozzy and Gabriel Ananda. In addition to his career in electronic music, Cio has explored the creation of soundtracks for theatre and film. In 2012, he composed his first work for musical theatre, Distanz, in which he mixed orchestral and electronic instruments under the direction of Thierry Bruehl. In 2014, he released PULSA in collaboration with Brigitta Muntendorf and Ensemble Garage, fusing music, contemporary dance and visuals. His foray into film was cemented in 2015 and 2016 with the soundtrack for the documentary Man on Mars and the award-winning animated short Ataraxya. As a DJ, Cio stands out for his detailed approach, mixing deep and authentic sounds that explore musical ‘grammar’. In 2015, Chanel included his music in its fall-winter haute couture campaign, cementing his prestige in fashion and art. After a hiatus in 2017, Cio returned in 2018, renewing his commitment to unique sound experiences and exploring new terrain in electronic music.
